In Touch with Art is a parent -run art enrichment program at St Joseph's School.
The program was started by the Parent Club in 1988 because at that time there was no formal art classes offered. ITWA is now funded by St. Joseph School. Molly Crocker, Art Specialist is the In touch with art coordinator. The Program's objective is to enhance art appreciation and artistic expression in the students.
The format is a monthly, informal discussion of a work of art followed by a hands-on activity. The emphasis is on art appreciation rather than art history. Where appropriate, the docents work with the teachers to tie the art presentation and project into the curriculum.
